THE SIN OFFERING

Leviticus 4:2: Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any one shall sin unwittingly.

1. Sin in ignorance

2. Hebrew chatta "to miss the mark"

3. The Sin offering deals with purification and removal

The Steps of the Sin Offering

1. Presentation at the door of the Tabernacle

2. Laying of hand upon the head of the animal by the person making the offering as act of identification.

3. Confession of sin by the person bringing the offering.

4. Killing of the animal not by the Priest but the person making the offering.

5. The sprinkling of the Blood. Horns of the Altar of Sacrifice then the blood poured out at the base of the altar.

6. The burning of the kidney and fat.

7. The remains of the animal burned outside of the camp.
